Some to-dos depend on where you are, not what time it is — "buy milk when I get to the store", "grab the package when I leave work". With location reminders, you get an alert when you arrive at a place or leave it.

Location alerts are a Pro feature. Reminders themselves are free; Pro is needed to add a location condition. If you're not subscribed, a crown appears next to Add location alert, and tapping it opens the subscription screen.

Add a location alert

You can add one to a new reminder or to an existing one.

1. For a new reminder, choose Reminder in the add sheet, then tap the down arrow (⌄) at the bottom to expand the details. For an existing reminder, tap it to open its detail screen.
2. Tap Add location alert.
3. In the place search, type a place name and pick a result. To use where you are now, tap Current Location.
4. Choose When arriving or When leaving.
5. Adjust the Radius while checking the map preview.
6. For a new reminder, tap the check (✓) at the top right to save.

Arriving, leaving, and radius

• When arriving: you're alerted when you enter the radius. Good for "things to do once I'm there", like groceries or a pharmacy stop.
• When leaving: you're alerted when you go outside the radius. Good for things to take when you leave home or work.
• Radius has 8 steps from 100 m to 2 km (100 m, 200 m, 300 m, 500 m, 750 m, 1 km, 1.5 km, 2 km). The circle on the map preview shows where the alert triggers. For large buildings or spots where location is less precise, a slightly wider radius helps you not miss the alert.

Change or remove the location

• To change the place, tap the place name again and search for a new one. Arriving/leaving and the radius stay as they were.
• To remove the location condition, tap the clear button to the right of the place name.

Location alerts are saved as Apple Reminders location alerts, so the same condition shows up in the Apple Reminders app too.

When location alerts don't arrive

• If Current Location doesn't work and you see "Location access is off", allow Plandy's location access While Using the App in iPhone Settings. You don't need this permission to pick a place by searching.
• The alert itself is sent by iPhone Reminders. Check that Location Services is on under iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security, and that Reminders notifications are allowed under Settings > Notifications.
